Personally and professionally, we need each other to survive in 2023.

Hello friends! If you’ve been paying attention, you may have noticed that I took time off from video production in December so that I could go on a big trip with my wife. We went to Switzerland for a week and did a Christmas Market River Cruise along the Rhine river in Germany. (The last couple of minutes of my video this week walk you through our trip through pictures and video.)

This week, I wanted to share a Brain Food idea that has been bouncing around in my head for a few weeks. I’ve been thinking about all the people that are in the various “communities” of my life. My family, my friends, my clients, etc. I had a clear perspective that we all rely on each other to succeed.

We each bring skills, energy, creativity and more to the table. When used wisely, those skills and the efforts of our minds, hands and feet can make an important difference for the people that depend on us.

At Work

At work, we get a paycheck for being a productive member of the team. If we don’t do our jobs, other people have to pick up the slack. Or worse, they notice and start resenting the people not carrying their weight. But if we contribute on a consistent basis, it helps form lasting relationships with your team members because you make their lives easier and they know they can count on you.

At Home

At home, your family depends on you. We all have lots of roles around the house. If you stop doing those roles, things start to break down quickly. Kids don’t get to their events. The sink gets full of dishes. Laundry starts piling up. And the yard starts to look like a jungle. On the flip side, if you lead with love in your home and take care of business, life is good.
