I explain the reasoning and history behind this project in my video. But some people prefer to read text! So here goes.
A friend of mine (John Yost) approached me in 2018 with a request for the not-for-profit he was starting. He was wondering if I would be able to donate the web development and I agreed. The organization is called Pharmacy of Grace, and they are the only not-for-profit pharmacy in Kansas City. I recently toured their facility and saw how much work they are doing to provide medicines to people who couldn’t normally afford them. I was so impressed and moved.
One of the things they shared is that many of their clients are transient. In other words, they don’t have a regular place to live and often live with friends, relatives or in shelters. Also, many clients don’t speak English as their primary language, so the staff at Pharmacy of Grace spends a lot of time with language translation software explaining to each person how and when to take their medications.
I was picturing all this, and thought… hmmmm. I wonder how they remember to take their meds? My wife and I use weekly pill boxes. Does Pharmacy of Grace have pill boxes they can give out with these prescriptions? NOPE. Let’s fix that together!
My hope is that we can raise $2,500 to order Pharmacy of Grace logo pill boxes that they can give out to all of the people that need them. Would you please join me in this effort? Pretty please? I really need your help! (Blue Gurus is donating $500 to this project.)
